The incident took place in her neighborhood Istanbul on April 2, with the victim having just left her mother’s house to buy milk.
According to Turkish media, Aleyna Tulay Tas was going to divorce her husband Okan Tas, as the man was violent and physically abusing her.
The woman had left home in February and was staying in a women’s shelter before moving to her mother’s house.
CCTV footage shows Okan dragging Tas onto the sidewalk as the woman tries to escape. Then he takes it out knife and stabs her.
Customers of a neighboring store see the incident and instead of helping the woman, they withdraw inside the store.
