He also noted that “among those I have written is a mother and her daughter from the a-Samouni family, survivors of the 2009 war. Then 29 members of their extended family were killed, including 21 in the bombing of a structure in which soldiers rounded up a few hundred of them after ordering them to leave their homes. They don’t answer me either.”
“I know for sure five friends and acquaintances of mine who lost their homes to Israeli bombings. Two families lost their homes in the first two days of the bombing. I imagine many others of my acquaintances, whom I have not been able to contact, have also lost their homes,” she then wrote, citing a text message from a friend, which read: “Every one of us is playing hide and seek with the Israeli killers. We will triumph and overcome this.”
