The man first climbs into the tank, before jumping and trying to push it with his hands. When that fails, he kneels in front of the chariot in an attempt to stop it from advancing.
In another 30-second video posted by Ukrainian HB, a man stands in front of military vehicles. As they try to overtake him, he seems to be trying to stop them.
The images went viral and social media users made comparisons with the legendary Tank Man of Tiananmen, according to a second Guardian article. “Tank Man” is the famous photograph of an unknown protester standing in front of a mile of Chinese tanks in Tiananmen Square in June 1989.
