Shocking: While fishing for lobsters, he was swallowed by a whale and then spat on him.

A cape lobster fisherman was in complete shock when he thought he was being attacked by a shark until he realized he was in the mouth of a whale.

Michael Packard, 56, tells the BBC his story begins with him diving off Provincetown, in Massachusetts. Packard says that while swimming deep, he felt an unexplained blow and suddenly everything went dark around him. At first he thought he was the target of a large white shark until he noticed that there were no teeth anywhere.

“It simply came to my notice then. Oh my God. I’m in the mouth of a whale trying to swallow me. This is. I will die”. He thought of his children, ages 12 and 15, and his wife, waiting for the end for about 30 to 40 seconds.

“Then suddenly he was shaken to the surface, he jerked and started shaking his head. I shook in the air and landed in the water. I was free and floating. I could not believe it. “I’m here to tell the story.”
