This Wednesday morning (23), the shooter identified as Edson Fernando Crippa, aged 45, was killed by military personnel after shooting several people inside his residence. His father and brother were killed, as well as an agent from the Rio Grande do Sul Military Brigade. Nine other people were injured.
The director also stated that, during the exchange of shots, Edson used a type of bandage “unusual and specific” .
He had a wound and used a type of dressing that only police officers use, or those who act in confrontations. It’s not common for a person to have this. He had it and used it on himself.

According to information from the Civil Police, Edson had two pistols and two shotguns at home. During the police siege of his house, which lasted almost nine hours, he fired more than 100 shots.
Still according to Mário, so far, it is not possible to define a motivation for the crime, but the suspect was defined by the police officer as “a criminal who decided to kill people.”
The case
On Tuesday night (22), a man shot several people inside his residence in Novo Hamburgo, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. The Military Brigade was called to the incident around 11pm, after the man’s father stated that he and his wife were being mistreated by his son.
At the scene, the Military Brigade was talking to those involved when Edson Fernando Crippa started shooting. In the attack, three people were killed, including his father and brother. A Military Brigade agent was also fatally shot.
Six soldiers, a civil guard, the shooter’s mother and sister-in-law were injured. The health status of the mother and sister-in-law is considered serious. Three police officers and the municipal guard are in stable condition, and three other police officers have already been released as they had minor injuries.
The location of the shooting was isolated for security reasons.
After just over nine hours of police siege, Rio Grande do Sul security agents managed to enter the property where the shots were coming from, totaling four deaths in the incident until the last update.
