The owner of a shooting club held raffles through his Instagram of rifles, shotguns, carbines, pistols and revolvers, according to the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), of the Civil Police of São Paulo. The weapons were seized on Tuesday (22). The businessman has not yet been located.
In four of the businessman’s addresses, the police found 38 weapons, which were sent for forensics. According to the police, all weapons seized have regular documentation.
The owner of the shooting club advertised on Instagram the values of the weapons raffles, which varied between R$ 0.99 and R$ 5.99, according to delegate Eduardo Miraldi. Participants in the raffles competed for weapons valued at up to R$10,000.
According to the delegate, the businessman is being investigated for illegally selling firearms and for promoting gambling. He also assesses the possibility of the crime of money laundering having occurred.
Weapon receivers are also in the investigators’ sights.
