Siamese twins have first contact after separation surgery in Goiânia; look

At conjoined twins Valentina and Eloá Prado aged 3, remain hospitalized in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the State Hospital for Children and Adolescents (Hecad), in Goiânia.

This Saturday (4th), they had their first contact after the separation surgery performed on January 11th.

The video made by the medical team, published by pediatric surgeon Zacharias Calil on Instagram, shows the moment of the meeting (see below ).

The sisters present different health states after the surgery.

According to the medical bulletin released this Saturday, Heloá remains stable, without fever, and with improvement in exams. She remains on antibiotics and manages to eat well.

Valentina, on the other hand, is in serious condition, in a progressive and gradual process of withdrawal from sedation and mechanical ventilation. According to the statement, she may be removed from artificial ventilation in the coming days. In addition, the patient is able to maintain pulse and blood pressure without mechanical help or medication, and does not have seizures, with the last electroencephalogram showing improvement in the neurological condition.
