For the specialization of the measures, in which the 27 leaders agreed in the recent Summit meetingfor the containment of natural gas prices and security of supply, are meeting today energy ministers of the EU in Luxembourg.
The need for a mechanism that will help in avoiding volatility both in the present and in the future, underlined the deputy prime minister and minister of industry and trade of his presidency European Council of the Czech Republic Jozef Sikela.
“We must find a tool to avoid, not only today, but also in the future this instability. So I don’t want to discuss the current price and the cap level because the game is not over yet winter is coming. We will see what winter brings and what may come next year. It is extremely important to have a tool” said Mr. Sikela, coming to the council of energy ministers in Luxembourg. He also did not hide his disappointment at the fact thatIf the procedures do not proceed faster.
“Time is of the essence and we must be quick. I will not hide that I am slightly disappointed that we are not moving forward as quickly as possible,” he pointed out. In addition, the Czech minister noted that “the leaders gave us the direction and today at the ministerial level we will continue with more technical discussions on the measures aimed at reaching an alignment which I hope will be approved under the Czech presidency by the end of November,” reports the Athens News Agency.
Finally, he expressed the belief that “there will be common understanding that we want to maintain unity and that we play it alltogether and not against each otheru”
