A case – horror sees the light of day. A mother and her 6 year old daughter in India were raped by a group of men who offered to take them home, according to police.
The two accepted the men’s offer to return them from the sacred site of Piran Kaliyar in Uttarakhand province. According to the police, the man who was driving the car and is known as Sonu, had some friends in the car when the mother and the little girl boarded.
The mother said she could not say exactly how many men were in the vehicle, only that friends were addressing the driver, calling him Sonu, according to NDTV and the Daily.
Sonu and the other men they raped the woman and her daughter in the car, which was in motion and then left near a canal, police said.
The mother managed to reach the nearby police station, where she reported the rape. She was then taken with her daughter to Roorkee Hospital, where doctors confirmed the sexual assault.
Police have not yet been able to locate the suspect and investigations are ongoing.
The sick crime comes after the gang rape of a 13-year-old girl in the country last month, with the police officer to whom she reported raping her again. Officer Tilakdhari Saroj was arrested when he tried to escape.
“If the police stations are not safe for women, then where will they go for complaints,” Hindu politician Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wondered angrily.
