EY Greece participated as a Platinum Sponsor in the 32nd Greek Economic Summit, organized between December 6 and 8, 2021, by the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce.

On Monday, December 6, the CEO of EY Greece, Mr. Panagiotis Papazoglou, addressed a short greeting before the keynote address by Sir Christoforos Pissaridis. In this context, Mr. Papazoglou referred to the challenges that Greece has faced in the last ten years, emphasizing that the Pissaridis Commission Report is a guide for all that we should focus on in order to make the leap forward.

Afterwards, after the speech, Sir Christoforos Pissaridis and Mr. Papazoglou discussed issues related to achieving sustainable development for Greece, such as the creation of quality jobs to reverse the brain drain and the areas in which to focus the State on the coming years to fuel growth.

On the third and final day of the conference, Wednesday, December 8, Ms. Chiara Konti, Associate Partner in the Department of Climate Change and Sustainable Development Services, participated in a panel discussion on the circular economy, coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Energy , climate, environment and circular economy, Mr. George Kremlis.

Specifically, Ms. Konti focused on the business side of the circular economy, stating that the biggest challenge for businesses is understanding the business case for moving to a circular model. Ms. Konti stressed that the circular economy is directly linked to tackling and adapting to climate change, as it is based, among other things, on principles related to the use of renewable natural resources (eg renewable energy sources) and the reduction of business exteriors. model (such as greenhouse gas emissions), making its link to the new climate law an important element of the success of the national strategy for the circular economy.

Finally, on the same day, Mr. Elias Vyzas, Partner in the Department of Consulting Services of EY Greece and Head of Technological Consulting Services of EY in Southeastern Europe, coordinated a discussion on the importance of the interconnection of universities, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship. for a sustainable economy.

The discussion was attended by Messrs.
