Silicon Power has announced the release of UDIMM DDR5 memory modules. According to the manufacturer, their “speed, capacity and reliability take your system performance to the next level.” DDR5-4800 modules are 1.5 times faster than standard DDR4-3200 memory, “providing multi-core processors with exceptional responsiveness and the ability to seamlessly multi-task.” DDR5-4800 modules work with CL40 delays.

The announcement noted the higher energy efficiency of the new modules, provided by the transfer of the power controller from the motherboard to the module board and the use of a lower voltage (1.1 V versus 1.2 V in the case of DDR4). Modules with a capacity of 8, 16 and 32 GB are offered one by one and in sets of two pieces with a total capacity of 16, 32 and 64 GB. The modules support ECC. Out dimensions are 133.4 x 31.3 mm. The manufacturer does not provide prices.
