Silk Browser

Silk Browser Is a web browser developed by Amazon specifically for the Kindle Fire and Fire Phone based on the Blink engine. Uses a partitioning architecture whereby some of the processing is done on Amazon servers to improve web page loading performance.

What’s so great about Silk compared to other browsers? Silk Browser takes advantage of Amazon Web Services (AWS) by analyzing network traffic information, pre-processing pages, and applying an intelligent algorithm to determine the fastest way to deliver content to a device. To minimize page load delays, Amazon Silk runs on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud – cloud servers that provide the highest performance and connection speeds.

The browser has a new start page that makes it easy to access the Amazon AppStore. The “Reading Mode” function has been added. It can be used to enable automatic loading of multi-page articles in full screen format, eliminating related links, advertisements and other distracting material.
