A hymn to Italian cinema: i Silver ribbons awarded the best of the seventh tricolor art in the 2022 edition (the 76th edition), during a ceremony that took place at the MAXXI in Rome on June 20 last. The prizes are assigned by the SNGCI (National Union of Italian Film Journalists) and represent the highest recognition of critics in the beautiful country.
To triumph with the highest number of awards was Paolo Sorrentino who won six statuettes with his most personal film. It was the hand of God (now on Netflix), which premiered at the Venice Film Festivalin fact, tells of his painful childhood, struggling with the contemporary disappearance of his parents, when he was only a teenager.
The film, awarded as best film of the season, also won prizes for best production, but also for best actresses (Teresa Saponangelo and Luisa Ranieri), for photography to Daria D’Antonio and as an emerging actor to Filippo Scotti. Massimiliano Gallo absent at the ceremony, currently engaged in Monte-Carlo TV Festival which sees him in contention for the Golden Nymph as the best TV series for Melancholy, a lawyer of failure (in autumn on Rai Uno).
Mario Martone with her Nostalgia (just presented to Cannes Film Festival) wins four awardsearning the protagonist Pierfrancesco Favino the award for best actor (ex aequo with Silvio Orlando, who shone in Still air And The hidden child).
Not just author scenarios, though: Gabriele Mainetti’s second project later They called him Jeeg Robot has won the major technical awards, thanks to the excellence and spectacularity of his Freaks out.
