SilverStone GM power supplies feature hot-swappable redundancy

SilverStone has introduced a series of redundant GM power supplies made in the PS / 2 form factor. Functionally, they are similar to the FSP Twins Pro PSU. As with the Twins Pro units, the SilverStone GM PSU design includes two pluggable hot-swappable modules. The series was opened by two models – GM 600 Silver and GM 800 Silver with a capacity of 600 W and 800 W, respectively.

Both have a Cybenetics Silver performance rating. Each unit is a single +12V rail design and uses server grade 40mm fans for cooling. The maximum noise level of such a fan is 51 dBA. The unit provides protection against increased and decreased input voltage, overload, overheating and short circuit. The main body into which the modules are inserted is provided with a fixed cable system. The GM 600 Silver is expected to cost $600, while the GM 800 Silver is expected to cost $700. In Asia, sales should begin at the end of March, in other regions – in April.
