Silvio Berlusconi’s legacy: agreement reached between his children. Between shares, securities, villas and boats, here’s who will go to what

The details are still to be ironed out, but the agreement of Silvio Berlusconi’s five children on the inheritance of the father is now one step away, only the small details that the lawyers are busy with are missing. This means that the children will accept the inheritance without asking for the benefit of inventory, which would have forced us to take longer and write the details of all the assets. The indiscretions of those close to the Berlusconi family confirm, as reported by the Courier, Marina and Pier Silvio as majority shareholders of Fininvest – with control of 53% of the shares -, then establishing the division of the assets desired by the father.

The bequests planned by Silvio Berlusconi, which could be made official soon, it’s 100 million euros for brother Paolo, 100 for Marta Fascina and 30 for Marcello Dell’Utri. As we know, Silvio Berlusconi had indicated with extreme clarity what his last wishes were: to assign to Marina and Pier Silvio a third of the hereditary patrimony which includes Fininvest, Mondadori and 30% of Banca Mediolanum, but also everything else. He decided it on October 2, 2006 when he was still married to Veronica Lariowhich at that time was therefore fully part of the hereditary axis.

The overall value of the inheritance would be around 4 billion euros, to which are added the large villas like those of San Martino in Arcore and Certosa in Sardinia. There is a recent appraisal of the latter that evaluates it 259 million, even though in the past there had been rumors of offers of up to 450. The problem of how to divide these luxurious properties between the Berlusconi brothers does not arise because they belong to a real estate holding company, the Dragonsweet, which will simply be divided in hereditary proportions: approximately 30% each to Marina and Pier Silvio, and 13.3% each to Barbara, Eleonora and Luigi. Then there would be other valuable properties such as the historic residence in Milan-San Gimignano, the “Due Palme” villa in Lampedusa and Villa Campari on Lake Maggiore, of a value of around between 600 and 700 million. As regards the boats – on which there is a tacit agreement between Berlusconi’s children to use them in turn -, the works of art and personal investments, the ratio should be roughly 60% for Marina and Pier Silvio and 40 % to Barbara, Eleonora and Luigi.
