Silvio Santos’ daughters thank the public: “May his essence remain”

To the daughters of presenter Silvio Santos spoke out on social media this Sunday (18), about the death of his father . The businessman died this Saturday (17), at the age of 93, as a result of bronchopneumonia after infection with Influenza (H1N1).

In the post published by sisters Cíntia, Daniela, Renata and Patrícia Abravanel, they thanked the public for the affection they have received and said they hope “that he is seeing and receiving all this love. He knew he was loved, but he had no idea how much.”

In the letter to the public, the family said they intend to continue their father’s legacy at the station: “We will strive and work to bring you joy, information and entertainment in the same way that [ele] always has. May his essence remain at SBT and may SBT continue to be made by and for Brazilians.”

“In the same way that he loved you, we love you too. We feel embraced by thousands and thousands. We want to send our hugs here, we reaffirm our bonds of gratitude to each one of you,” said the presenter’s daughters.

The presenter’s granddaughter, Amanda Abravanel, 18, was the first member of the family to speak out on social media about the businessman’s death, on Saturday. Silvia Abravanel’s youngest daughter, she said that the owner of SBT “lived life as it should be lived.”

After Silvio’s burial on Sunday morning, in the Butantã neighborhood, in the west of São Paulo, the businessman’s heiresses waved to the fans who were at the cemetery gate and thanked them for their affection with applause.
