Emilio Gola is just over thirty years old and is a young Milanese painter. He has exhibited in several international fairs and has obtained personal in important galleries in Venice, Lisbon, Milan and soon also in Rome and the United States. His paintings and drawings always portray the same subject: boys and girls, his peers, caught at the time of doubt, of transformation, at that phase of life in which everything can be or not being but above all has not yet happened. Gola loves to represent the stunning you feel when you do not know who you are, what can be done, what their qualities are and what the defects, in which direction will his life will proceed. In each work, then, it seems to describe the distance you can or, perhaps, must be taken from the expectations of a company based on performance and on the representation of oneself. But there is not only criticism in his poetics: as he himself explains, his characters, despite being painted in a state of calm or waiting, however they are always eager to throw themselves into something, to try other directions, to discover other ways. «It is like when you are tired in the evening and there is the possibility of going out, to go to a new place or a party. I like the idea of telling that instinct that makes you say: I go there, let’s see what happens ». In the summer number of Vanity Fair From today on newsstands you will find the sense of waiting, of the suspension, typical of the holidays, but also the will to bring you from another part to see what could happen. From the cover interview with Jennifer Aniston to the stories related to current affairs, travel and beauty, we want to take you out of your comfort zone, from what you think we know to discover other views, other lives, other experiences.
