In the absorption of nine of the total eleven stores of the local chain, SEP Markets – Papadopoulos based in Ioannina, the company Hellenic Supermarkets Sklavenitis is expected to proceed unexpectedly, as confirmed in Capital.gr sources close to the company, in view of a relevant agreement to be signed between the two companies.
According to the same sources, all the jobs in these stores, which correspond to a total of 160 people, will be fully maintained by Sklavenitis, while the ultimate goal is to create new jobs in the future.
Sklavenitis’s side states, among other things, that “the chain has an expanded network of stores with more than 400 stores throughout Greece, this move comes as practical support for SEP Markets Papadopoulos and its employees, as through the agreement, the sustainable operation of the local company which will be able to focus on new areas of activity “.
The same sources speak of a move that secures jobs and enables local consumers to continue to make their purchases from the specific points of sale.

As stated by Simos Papadopoulos, President and CEO of SEP Markets, with whom Capital.gr contacted: “It is a strategic cooperation with very favorable terms between Sklavenitis and us and we are trying to complete it. More details and official you will have announcements on the subject when the agreement is formally closed “.
It is noted that the turnover of SEP Markets in 2020 was 17.63 million euros with marginal profits before taxes of 20.9 thousand euros and 18.54 million euros in 2019 with profits before taxes of 7.2 thousand euros.
The latest balance sheet of SEP Markets referred to the fact that the company’s total equity was less than 50% of the share capital, while there was a negative difference between short-term receivables and liabilities at the end of 2020. In 2021 the company proceeded to adjust of its debts to the State, which are serviced – as mentioned – normally.
