A bus with 49 passengers toppled at dawn on Tuesday (8) in Araguari (MG), about 560 kilometers from Belo Horizonte, and left at least 11 people killed.
According to the Minas Gerais Fire Department, the accident occurred in the junction that connects the MG-413 and MG-223 highways. The hypothesis considered is that the driver lost control of the vehicle, made the collective cross the central flowerbed.
The highway where the bus was driving before crashing is just over 55 kilometers and starts in the municipality of Corumbaíba (GO). In Goiás, the road is identified as GO-139.
The Quinca Mariano Bridge, over the Paranaíba River, connects between Minas Gerais and Goiás. In Minas Gerais territory, the highway is identified as MG-413 and is named Neilton de Paiva Neves Highway.
In all its length, the highway has a simple and two -way track. That is, only one track in each sense. In most of the route, the established speed limit is 60 km/h.
The bus left Anápolis (GO) at 20:30 on Monday (7). At around 3:30 am, the collective arrived at the roundabout that gives access to the MG-223 highway, where it crashed.
