Nothing like a cold beer on a hot day. But enjoying a cold beer while contemplating the landscape of one of the most photogenic cities in the world? Even better.
That was the idea behind Level33 a bar in Singapore that has just won the title of Highest microbrewery in the world in a building according to the Guinness World Records.
The announcement was made by the brand on their social networks on March 12. “As a child, my friends and I read the Guinness Book with admiration and curiosity,” he said Martin well founder of the brewery, CNN TRAVEL .
“It’s amazing to see a project of ours recognized in such an iconic book and be able to celebrate this achievement with more than 100 friends and colleagues. In a way, this title is a gift for the whole team for our 15 years of history. ”
For good, this recognition is not only a victory for Level33, but also a way to highlight Singapore’s innovative spirit, which surpasses seemingly impossible challenges.
One of these challenges was finding space for a brewery in a compact and densely populated city.
Inaugurated in 2010, in Marina Bay Financial Center Tower Level33 is on the 33rd floor – from there came the idea for the name of the bar.
To equip the space, were commissioned tanks and boilers from Europe, but many pieces were too big to fit the building elevator. In the end, it was necessary to lift the entire machinery – including 12 tanks, two copper boilers and a cooling system – to the top with a crane.
The bold plan worked. Today, from the 33 -story top, customers can drink while enjoying iconic views of Singapore, such as the Marina Bay Sands Hotel (with its famous coverage pool), the futurist Artscience Museum and the giant wheel Singapore Flyer . At dusk, the bar is usually crowded with those who want to enjoy the happy hour and ensure good photos.
The beer menu includes classic styles, such as IPA and Stout, but the highlight is the Brut Beer a collaboration with the renowned champagne house Rothschild barons – Available only on site.
Now, the traditional Blond Lager of the house takes the official seal of the Guinness World Records on the label.
