Singer Alexandre Pires was the target of search and seizure, this Monday (4), in a Federal Police operation against the financing and logistics scheme for illegal mining in the Yanomami Indigenous Land.
The artist would have received at least R$1 million from a mining company under investigation.
The Operation was named Golden Disc and complied with warrants issued by the 4th Federal Court of the Judiciary Section of Roraima.
Among the crimes investigated is money laundering. The police tracked the financial movements of a mining company under investigation and reached bank accounts, like the singer’s. The network would also include aircraft pilots, fuel stations and machine shops.
To comply with the search order, PF teams went to a cruise where Alexandre Pires was performing, on the coast of Santos, this Monday. The information was published by the Metrópoles portal and confirmed by CNN.
Without directly linking it to the name of Alexandre Pires, nor of other people, earlier, the PF announced that the scheme would feature a singer who received the millionaire figure and also a music businessman, of national expression, “who would be one of those responsible for the financial core of the crimes.”
In the action, the kidnapping of more than R$130 million from the suspects was also determined.
The operation is an offshoot of a PF action launched in January 2022, when 30 tons of cassiterite extracted from the Yanomami Indigenous Land were deposited at the headquarters of an investigated company and were being prepared for shipment abroad.
The police investigation indicates that the ore would be declared as originating from a regular mine on the Tapajós River, in Itaituba/PA, and supposedly transported to Roraima for treatment. According to investigators, however, the operation would only be on paper, as the ore would have been explored in the state of Roraima itself.
A CNN He sought out the singer Alexandre Pires, through his advisor, and until the publication of the report he did not respond.
