The Regional Labor Court (TRT) of the 6th Region suspended the court decision that blocked singer Joelma's passport due to a labor debt worth just over R$1 million.
The decision by judge Maria Clara Saboya Bernardino classified the measure imposed by the 11th Labor Court of Recife as “disproportionate and unnecessary”.
On Tuesday (19), judge Gustavo Augusto Pires de Oliveira had ordered the suspension of the passport, stating “repeated frustration of executive measures to satisfy the credit” – that is, to pay the debt.
According to the magistrate, Joelma's conduct showed “total lack of commitment to cooperation and the manifest intention of obstructing the enforcement measures imposed to her detriment”.
In a statement, the artist's advisor stated that the process is not directly related to the singer, referring to a period in the band Calypso's career in which Joelma “did not exercise any control over its financial management”.
The singer thanked her fans for their support and said that she will remain focused on her career, “without forgetting to take care of the well-being of her team”.
