Singer Julio Iglesias pays tribute to Silvio Santos: “A soul friend has died”

THE singer Julio Iglesias 80, spoke out on his social media, this Saturday (17), paying tribute to presenter Silvio Santos who died at the age of 93 due to bronchopneumonia after infection with Influenza (H1N1).

“Today a soul friend, Silvio Santos, whom I admired greatly, died. A great Brazilian creator whom I adored. My dear Silvio, rest in peace, you carry with you the affection of millions and millions of people who deeply feel your death. I especially want them to tell you and tell you in heaven how much I love you,” he wrote in an image on Instagram.

“Today a soul friend, Silvio Santos, whom I greatly admired, died. A great Brazilian creator whom I adored. My dear Silvio, rest in peace, you carry with you the affection of millions and millions of people who deeply feel your death. I especially want them to tell you and tell you in heaven how much I love you.”

The friends were neighbors in the United States and gave several testimonies throughout their lives in which they emphasized the affection they had for each other. Silvio had CDs of the Spanish and his songs were common on his programs, such as the dances on his station’s segment, “In the Name of Love”.
