Singer Simaria Mendes, from the former duo Simone and Simaria, will launch a solo career in 2024. The information was confirmed by the artist's press office to CNN this Friday (29).
Simaria said goodbye to the duo with her sister Simone Mendes in August 2022. The two had invested together in the music business since 2012 and went on to release major country hits such as “Foi lá pum” and “Regime Fechado”.
A statement released by the duo's team at the time said that Simaria would “temporarily step away from the stage” to take care of her children and her vocal condition. Now, according to the press office, the singer is ready to return to music next year.
Simone Mendes, in turn, has pursued a solo career since the duo ended and has released hits such as “Erro Gostoso” and “Dois Fugitivos”, as well as partnerships with Ana Castela in “Não vai ver Nunca” and the duo Guilherme and Benuto in “Send Hi”.
And BBB24?
Last week, social media was flooded with rumors that Simaria would be on BBB24, which premieres on January 8th. CNN contacted the artist's press office to comment on the matter, and she said she “doesn't even know what it's about”.
Simaria, in turn, made a publication about her name being one of the most talked about topics on X (formerly Twitter), without confirming or denying her presence in the most watched house in the country.
