Singer Tiee is sentenced to prison for alleged threats to his ex-girlfriend

Singer Diógines Ferreira de Carvalho, Tiee, was sentenced to one month and 18 days in prison for alleged threats to his ex-girlfriend, dentistry student Ingrid Freitas. The sentence must be served initially in an open regime.

In a document from the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ) obtained by CNN there is information that the lawsuit was filed by the Public Ministry and that the sentence was given for “domestic and family violence against women”, with threats of physical aggression and disclosure of intimate photos.

“The accused, freely and consciously, threatened his former partner Ingrid dos Santos Freitas, through writings, of causing him unjust and serious harm, through messages (…) thus causing well-founded fear and restlessness in his spirit ”, says the text.

Still according to the sentence, “the threats were proven through the ‘prints’ of the WhatsApp application screens”. The document also states that “the victim’s word is coherent, harmonious and is supported by the other evidence in the file, as well as being of great importance”.

According to the text, the singer’s ex-girlfriend reported that she lived with him since the beginning of the relationship and that he recorded intimate videos of the two, as well as she also sent photos and videos to him. Among the WhatsApp messages, the singer reportedly threatened to send the records to his ex-girlfriend’s father and his co-workers.

Ingrid Freitas also told Justice that the relationship between them ended after she found out that the singer had relationships with other women.

Lawyers

The singer’s defense, represented by lawyer José Estevam Macedo Lima, stated that the decision has not yet been formally communicated, but that it will “appeal to the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, in search of the truth of the facts” as soon as the subpoena is made.

The lawyer still says he does not believe in maintaining the sentence, claiming that there was no expertise to prove the veracity of the evidence in “’prints’ of alleged WhatsApp messages”, as well as “the reality of the factual context narrated by the alleged victim”.

“It is important to highlight that the cell phone, on which the messages were supposedly located, was never delivered to the police headquarters at the appropriate time and, consequently, was not examined, which, in itself, already demonstrates the total fragility of the accusations and makes them clearly doubtful. ”, says the text of the note sent to CNN for the defense of the singer.

Tiee’s legal counsel also denies that he had “a cohabiting relationship with the alleged victim” and that, therefore, the Court would be “completely incompetent to judge the respective Criminal Action”.

The note also says that the artist “repudiates any and all types of aggression and asserts that he will prove his innocence in the face of evident injustice.”

A CNN contacted the defense of Ingrid Freitas and awaits return.
