A private plane bound for Americana, in the interior of São Paulo, had to make an emergency landing on a beach in Santa Catarina this Thursday (16th), after having an engine failure.
The two crew members on board were rescued unharmed and refused to receive medical attention at a hospital, according to a statement from the state Fire Department.
The aircraft had taken off from the airfield in São José (SC). Near the municipality of Itajaí, around 3 pm, the plane had technical problems and forced the pilot to land at sea.
After the emergency landing, in a surf zone, the crew had to be removed from the water with the help of people and two lifeguards who were close to the place. “According to the pilot, at this moment of rescue, the crew members were drowning”, says the note.
Also according to the statement, Samu and the Military Police (PM) participated in the service.
