When most people decide to look for love, the path usually goes through apps, social networking sites or even friend-of-friends – but Muhammad Malik used an entirely different method.
The 29-year-old London bachelor is using billboards in the British city of Birmingham to advertise himself to potential candidates.
The sign reads “save me from an arranged marriage” and also shows the name of his website, so suitors can get in touch and find out what he’s looking for.
In a video on the website, called “Find a Wife for Malik”, the Londoner says he is a businessman, gastronomy, religious and is looking for someone who is working on his Din – an Islamic way of life that defines the code individual social and personal of the Muslim – and that “has a chat with a score of 100”.
To explain why he chose such an unorthodox method of finding a partner, Malik says on the website: “I just haven’t found the right girl yet. It’s hard out there. I had to make a billboard to be seen!”
Malik also says he is interested in “personality and faith” above all and confirms that billboards are not a joke – he means it.
The eligible bachelor makes it clear that he is not against arranged marriages. He tells netizens that he thinks “arranged marriages have a place and a tradition in many Islamic cultures” but says “I just want to try and find someone alone first.”
