Rocket barrages were launched from Lebanon towards Israel overnight, an Israeli army statement said on Sunday (8).
Video obtained by Reuters showed two barrages, the first about an hour after midnight local time and the other about two hours later. Rocket launches and interceptions were seen in the sky over the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona, while air raid sirens and explosions were heard.
The Israeli army statement said that “approximately 20 projectiles were identified crossing into Lebanon.”
“The IDF Aerial Defense Array [Forças de Defesa de Israel] successfully intercepted most of the projectiles. Fallen projectiles were identified in the area. No injuries were reported,” he added.
The army also said it had attacked Hezbollah military structures in Lebanon overnight.
