Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv on Wednesday as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken prepared to wrap up his visit. Smoke, apparently from an intercepted missile, could be seen in the sky above the hotel where Blinken was staying, according to the Associated Press. Blinken called on Israel to use its recent tactical victories against Hamas to seek a deal to end the war and bring back dozens of hostages, before departing on Wednesday for Saudi Arabia as part of his 11th visit to the region since the start of Israel-Hamas war. The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has vowed to destroy Hamas and take back the dozens of hostages being held. Hamas says it will release the captives only in exchange for a permanent ceasefire, Israel’s full withdrawal from Gaza and the release of Palestinian prisoners.
