“Situation is under control in Cajamar”, says mayor after rains in Grande SP

In an interview with CNN This Monday (31), the mayor of Cajamar (SP), Danilo Joan (PSD), spoke about the situation in the city after the heavy rain that hit the region this weekend. According to the mayor, the situation is under control in the municipality and there are no homeless people.

So far, at least 24 people died as a result of the storms in the state of São Paulo. The disturbances also left around 660 families homeless or displaced, seven people injured and eight missing, the Civil Defense said.

“We had some homes invaded. [pela água], but thank God no one homeless. Families are getting all the assistance, our biggest concern in Cajamar is with Franco da Rocha and Francisco Morato, we have a very united consortium,” the mayor told CNN.
