At least six people died this morning in a double strike by Russian forces targeting a hospital in the Sumy region of northeastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry announced today. “In Sumy, the Russians hit a medical center twice: so far six people have died,” Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said in a Telegram post. “The first attack claimed the life of one person and damaged the ceilings of various floors of the hospital. The evacuation of patients and staff has begun,” he explained. As the hospital was being evacuated, the Russians struck again, killing five more people, Klimenko concluded in his post.
