Ski, ok yellow regions. But which government decides on the date?

There are deadlines and knots to be solved precisely in the days when the resigning executive manages only the ordinary administration and the nascent Draghi government still not ready. Among these deadlines, one particularly interests Italians: that on a ban on travel between regions which is in effect until 15 February.

Before the crisis, the government’s orientation was to extend it until 5 March, the date on which the other measures envisaged by the last Dpcm of Giuseppe Conte expire.

Now it is not known. If the government, whatever it is in charge, does not take any measures, the borders between the regions will reopen to everyone. Until now it was possible to pass them only with self-certification for reasons of work, health, urgency, return to one’s residence or to reach second homes owned or rented before 20 December.

For now, the Scientific Technical Committee has not been asked for an opinion on this matter, which instead expressed itself on the other issue due to expire on February 15: the closure of the ski resorts. Here was the go ahead, but only for the yellow regions, to open the plants and therefore to start the ski season according to the guidelines presented by the regions.

But it is the regions themselves that are wavering now. For many localities it would not make economic sense to set the plants in motion, to open shelters and hotels if circulation between one region and another were prevented. To weigh on this decision will be above all the trend of the epidemiological curve, those data that every week establish the colors of the regions.

Today the decision on the new color changes. They hope to go yellow Puglia and Sardinia. However, there are fears about the increase in cases and important outbreaks in Perugia and Chieti, which could become local red areas. Then there is the South Tyrol case that from 8 February, for three weeks, returns to lockdown. The new and stricter measures were decided by the provincial government: shops closed, distance learning in schools and a ban on moving from municipalities.
