Skoda introduced the updated Karoq: powerful, sporty and safe

Just now, on November 30, Skoda has officially presented an updated version of the Karoq city crossover, which has received many interesting innovations and functions.

However, the body of the vehicle has not changed much compared to the previous generation – on the front you can see a slightly modified radiator grill, which has become a little wider, with decorative air ducts of impressive dimensions. Also, the new car has pleased with more stylish running lights of a new shape, a frame with a glossy finish and a plastic lining in the lower part of the bumper.

In the rear side of the crossover, there are no significant changes, which is quite expected, either – the manufacturer increased the spoiler, installed a sportier bumper with decorative diffusers, and slightly changed the design of the brake lights. The vehicle really began to look more sporty, plus special protective plastic black pads appeared around the body. At the same time, the thresholds, door shape, roof rails and other body elements remained the same, so that without direct comparison, only an experienced motorist can distinguish the previous generation from the new one.

But the interior of the crossover was updated a little more than the body. For example, now absolutely all versions of Karoq can boast of a full-fledged digital dashboard with a diagonal of 8 inches, and for a fee, it is possible to get a 10.25-inch “tidy”. We pumped over the car and the multimedia system – the potential buyer gets a 6.5- or 8-inch display (depending on the configuration) with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus there is wireless charging and a powerful audio system in the cabin. Moreover, the Eco-package can now be optionally selected – then the interior trim will be made partly from recycled materials.

During the presentation, the manufacturer repeatedly emphasized environmental friendliness and environmental protection, so the new generation Karoq received five Evo generation motors at once. A potential buyer is offered a choice of 1.0 / 1.5 / 2.0-liter turbocharged TSI petrol engines with an output of 81/110/140 kW, respectively. There are also two diesel engines – 2.0 TDI with a capacity of 85 and 110 kW. And the buyer can also choose a complete set with a manual or automatic transmission (DSG with dual clutch), four-wheel drive is available (4×4 and DGS-box are standard equipment with a 2.0 TSI engine).

Safety systems and driving assistants deserve special attention – in this regard, Skoda has really advanced. For example, the crossover can now be equipped with the Travel Assist package, which will allow you to travel long distances in greater comfort. There is also an advanced emergency braking system, intelligent cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision protection and a host of other assistive technologies. We also took care of the rear-row passengers – if the car’s system detects the danger of a collision, the car will close the windows and panoramic roof, turn on the hazard lights and tighten the seat belts.

We finished the presentation of the updated crossover with a demonstration of the sports version of the car – Karoq Sportline. This version of the vehicle has sports wheels with a diameter of 20 inches, decorative details painted in black (radiator grille, window trims, roof rails, rear-view mirrors, etc.), as well as a top-end 2.0 TSI power unit with all-wheel drive and “ automatic machine “. In addition, the Sportline has a unique interior with sports seats, a three-spoke sports steering wheel and other decorative elements.
