Skoda Kodiaq vRS will return to the market with a 241-horsepower engine

Last year, the Czech carmaker Skoda discontinued production of the “charged” version of its Kodiaq vRS crossover, promising to restart it in the future. And the Czechs kept their promise. According to the AutoCar portal, Skoda is preparing to release an updated Kodiaq vRS model with an even more powerful engine.

The original model of the seven-seater Skoda Kodiaq vRS was equipped with a 236 horsepower twin-turbo diesel engine. He then became the reason for the removal of the car from sale due to the widespread tightening of emission rules. To meet modern environmental standards, Skoda decided to replace the diesel engine with a gasoline one. The new ICE with a volume of 2 liters has a proprietary turbocharging from Volkswagen, and its power reaches 241 horsepower. Moreover, it is more than 60 kg lighter than the previously used diesel engine. The new engine will be accompanied by the same seven-speed DSG gearbox and all-wheel drive system as its predecessor.

Skoda has not yet revealed the characteristics of the updated model. But knowing that exactly the same engine is installed in the Seat Tarraco, we can assume that the future Kodiaq vRS will be able to accelerate from zero to hundred in about 6 seconds, and the maximum speed will be about 225 km.

The updated Skoda Kodiaq vRS, like its predecessor, will receive a unique design that will distinguish it from the standard versions of the Czech SUV. This includes an updated high-gloss black radiator grille, black window frames and roof rails, and a new bespoke front bumper. Will delight the exterior and 20-inch alloy wheels in black metallic color. And the salon will greet the owner with seats with red stitching and a 10.25-inch information display on the torpedo.

In the European market, the updated Skoda Kodiaq vRS should go on sale in July this year. The price has not yet been announced, but it is believed that it will be slightly higher compared to the original Skoda Kodiaq vRS, which cost from £ 42,870 in the UK.
