Czech automaker Skoda Auto, part of the Volkswagen group, will halt production at its domestic factories for a week at the end of September due to a shortage of microcircuits. A relevant warning is contained in the company trade union newsletter published today.

Skoda union head Jaroslav Povsik said in the newsletter that the canceled shifts will be added to the weekends of September 27 and 28 on the occasion of the national holiday – Independence Day. Production will be suspended for the entire week.
