Sky: from the Italian version of Call my agent to the return of X Factor, all about the new titles

Confirmations, news and some risks in the name of a common denominator: quality. The schedules of the new Sky season confirm that the satellite continues to raise the bar by offering its subscribers programs, TV series, films and documentaries suitable for the whole family and capable of intercepting all tastes. And so, after the exploit of 2022 with over 100 original Sky Original titles, here is a very rich production plan that focuses above all on TV series which, beyond foreign purchases – from the highly anticipated prequel to game of Thrones House of the Dragon aired on Sky simultaneously with America on 22 August to the third season of Succession until the second of The White Lotus set in Sicily, scheduled for 2023 -, they are the real flagship of the Sky world. It starts in the fall with 4 new episodes of Petra, the series directed by Maria Sole Tognazzi and brilliantly interpreted by Paola Cortellesi and Andrea Pennacchi; with the second season of Romulus, the Matteo Rovere series acted in protolatin which this year will also see Giancarlo Commare and the little Ludovica Nasti in the cast; and, in world premiere, The Great Gamethe series dedicated to the world of the transfer market with Francesco Montanari as a football prosecutor who, at the height of his career, is arrested for illegal gambling and loses everything he had.

Among the brand new products – thus excluding the second season of Christian with Edoardo Pesce, Claudio Santamaria and Silvia D’Amico; from At Home All Well by Gabriele Muccino and de The king with Luca Zingaretti and Isabella Ragonese -, the wait is all concentrated for: The art of joy, the series based on the posthumous novel of the same name by Goliarda Sapienza which marks the debut of Valeria Golino behind the camera for TVan intimate and surprising story centered on Modesta, a little girl from Sicily at the beginning of the 20th century who discovers sexuality and the desire for a better life than she has always had; They Killed Spider-Man – The True Story of 883, the first tv series directed by Sydney Sibilia and dedicated to the story of Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto; Dostoevskythe first TV series written and directed by the Fratelli D’Innocenzo with Filippo Timi – which we will see again on Sky also in the tenth season of The crimes of the Bar Lume – in the role of Enzo Vitello, an investigator on the trail of a ruthless serial killer nicknamed Dostoevsky; and, last but not least, the Italian version of Call my agent, the wonderful French series available on Netflix developed for Italy by Palomar and centered on an agency, the CMA, which has to manage the contracts and whims of Italian movie stars.

The series, directed by Luca Ribuoli and written by Lisa Nur Sultan, will see the light in 2023, and will star Michele Di Mauro, Sara Drago, Maurizio Lastrico, Marzia Ubaldi, Sara Lazzaro, Francesco Russo, Paola Buratto, Paola Kaze Formisano, ready to deal with a series of stars who will lend their faces to themselves: from Pierfrancesco Favino to Paola Cortellesi; from Paolo Sorrentino to Matilda De Angelis; from Stefano Accorsi to Corrado Guzzanti. Among the next projects here, however, also Django, the contemporary reinterpretation of Corbucci’s classic western directed (among others) by Francesca Comencini and with Matthias Schoenaerts in the role of the main character; And Unwantedfrom the investigative book by Fabrizio Gatti on his journey along the migrant routes, Bilal, adapted by Stefano Bises, directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and starring Marco Bocci in an international cast. The Son of the Century, from the novel Premio Strega by Antonio Scurati on the rise to power of Benito Mussolini, e The city of the living, from Nicola Lagioia’s bestseller on one of the most heinous crimes that Italy remembers, that of Luca Varani.

But the next few months will also be marked by Sky Original cinema: from The Hanging SunMidnight Sun by Francesco Carrozzini, from the bestseller by Jo Nesbø, with Alessandro Borghi, a Travelers, Ludovico Di Martino’s film starring a group of young people who will travel back in time to 1939. Beyond the Cinema catalog – with over 200 premieres a year and 2,500 cinema titles a year – the attention of Sky’s loyal audience is also focused on entertainment, another race horse of the satellite. It starts on September 15th on Sky Uno with the new (and revolutionized) edition of X Factor, enriched by a new jury (Fedez, Ambra Angiolini, Rkomi and Dargen D’Amico) and a new management (Francesca Michielin), and continues in December with the new Masterclass of aspiring chefs of MasterChef Italy, to which the new seasons of Alessandro Borghese 4 Restaurants starting in November; from Bruno Barbieri 4 hotels (September); from Four weddings (from 2 October) with Costantino della Gherardesca – who will return in 2023 also with a new edition of Beijing Express; a new legendary vacation of Those Good Girls and the impossible missions (and restorations) of Hells Kitchen.
