Slovenia: Coronavirus deniers invade public television studio

A group of coronavirus deniers and anti-vaccination activists stormed the building that houses its public television late last night, Friday night. Slovenia and asked for their views to be disseminated.

Police quickly put an end to the incident and arrested 20 intruders who had managed to break into the news studio of the station, broadcast today the Slovenian news agency STA.

“It is an unacceptable attack on the media, journalism and democracy”, said the station’s news director Manica Janezic Abrozic.

The Slovenian DNS journalists’ association announced that the episode is just “the tip of the iceberg” in the “hate campaign” against the media, which is powered by the government of Conservative Prime Minister Janez Jansa.

RTV director Andrei Grach Watmo has announced increased security measures.

Coronaviruses have been protesting outside the TV building for four months and harassing its employees..

The area in front of the TV building is a public space, so protesters have the right to gather there, Guatmo said.

Behind the incident is a movement led by former army officer Ladislav Troχαa, a 1991 veteran of Slovenia’s independence, broadcast by STA.
