Smace, when smartworking becomes a company benefit

Smartworking yes, smartworking no? Now there is a lot of talk about returning to the office: there are those who are desperate and those who expect it as a return to the promised land.

But after all this time, even smartworking has taken other forms: people have been able to reorganize themselves, to make the most of the opportunity. As they say: virtue of necessity. And so, instead of staying in pajamas and slippers to work from the sofa at home, many have chosen to find more attractive locations, perhaps moving to the sea or to the mountains.

And on the wave of this new experience (which has become almost a necessity for some) it was born Smace (acronym for smart work in a smart place), a start-up founded by five very young people (Andrea Droghetti, Marta Romero, Max Bratti, Filippo Agosti and Matteo Trimurti), with the idea of rebalance the work-life relationship: «All the more», they explain to them, «that it is now scientifically proven that the quality of the work changes significantly according to the location in which one is located».

Smace aims to offer companies packages to be allocated to their employees, so that they can work remotely in an affiliated structure and the more you stay there, the less you pay. For now the locations are between Tuscany, Umbria, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna and they all meet a series of minimum requirements: room with workstation, wi-fi, photocopier and printer available, meeting room and possibility of a quick break-lunch.

The intention would be that, even if 100% offices were to be restarted, companies could still take into account periods of workation (work + vacation) throughout the year: that is, it would not be a holiday intended as an interruption and break from work, but in any case work, simply done in another location. The company interested in the workation for his collaborators he could easily buy coupons, leaving the employee the freedom to book a stay in the place and period he preferred. A second option already active is also that of inserting Smace’s proposals among the annual welfare credits.

In this way smartworking really becomes smart, not to be confused with homeworking anymore.
