Today, the Athens stock market is moving slightly downwards, correcting after its positive two-day course, while the turnover is moving at the levels of… August 15th.
In particular, the General Index recorded losses of 0.37% at 879.51 points, while the turnover is at 3 million euros and the volume at 1.1 million pieces. The FTSE 25 also registered a fall of 0.42%, at 2,120.70 points, while the banking index lost 0.37% at 569.27 points.
Today’s session is dedicated to… Alpha bank and Piraeus, which have traded almost 80% of the volume so far. Clearly, the trading activity does not reflect the intentions of the portfolios active in Athens Street, with the 15th of August influencing the “order buttons”.
However, any moves reflected in the present have some perspective with the developments expected from September, as the economic staff of the Government tries to plan alternative scenarios for the support measures that will be announced next month.
At the same time, there are only 10 days left before the political fight returns to the seats of the Parliament, with the market waiting to diagnose at what levels the risk of early elections is. As Capital.gr reports, work in the Parliament will begin on August 22, when the parties will meet at the Conference of Presidents to plan the next parliamentary moves around the issue, that is, the… timeline of the “fight” .

On the board now, OPAP, ADMIE and OTE are exerting pressure on the market with their more than 1% losses, while Titan, Piraeus, Hellenic Petroleum, PPC, Coca Cola, Jumbo, Motor Oil, Ethniki, EYDAP are slightly down , Aegean, Terna Energy, Alpha Bank, Eurobank and Viochalko.
