A small plane crashed and left two injured in the city of Muriaé, in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais, this Saturday (13). A student and a flight instructor were on board and suffered minor injuries.
According to the Fire Department, the aircraft, a Cesna 150 model, lost engine power and made an emergency landing, colliding with a tree, near Via Parque, in the São Gonçalo neighborhood.
The firefighting team carried out a primary assessment and referred the two victims to the Advanced Support Units (USA) and Basic Support Units (USB) of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).
The student and instructor had minor injuries and were taken to São Paulo Hospital for medical evaluation.
According to the Fire Department, the area was isolated, the aircraft’s battery, with prefix PR-DAL, was disconnected and there was no secondary risk of fire.
In a statement, the team stated that the Third Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (SERIPA III) and the Air Force investigation delegate were called.
Firefighters also reported that the investigation into the accident may continue until Sunday (14). Technical experts from the civil and military police were also called in.
