The reaction on the Athens stock exchange has started to take on a procedural character at this time, with the sellers making their presence felt, at least in the middle of the board, leading to several titles in negative territory.
In particular, the General Index records gains of 0.59% at 882.10 points, while the turnover is at 15.8 million euros and the volume at 7.3 million units. The FTSE 25 also recorded an increase of 0.85%, to 2,118.91 points, while the banking index gained 1.78% to 566.86 points.
The reaction recorded today on the ATHEX is fragile, which may be in favor of two heavyweight bodyguards, Eurobank and Coca Cola, but it can not cover much ground from yesterday’s fall, when it has almost half of its scoreboard in negative soils. In fact, the trading activity, both due to the Christmas days and due to the wariness, is so low, that there are not a few portfolios that proceed with procedural moves.
Selective moves
However, the feeling that exists in the market, in all the portfolios that remain in the last ten days of the year, is that few things are left to be priced until the end, while the selective moves now have a horizon in 2022. Everyone knows that although the Greek market is not expensive in relation to abroad, it shows significant differences in the individual valuations.
The data and the prospects based on the current situation impose a selective focus while time is also an important parameter. It is possible that the de-escalation of energy prices will take place in the middle of next year, while the issue of the investment stage will come to the fore after the arrival of the first half of the year. Thus, the prevalence of mild trends in the next period of time seems to prevail as a scenario as the existing volumes can not be considered sufficient for a continuous movement in one direction or the other.
On the board
On the board now, Eurobank is gaining 3.13%, with Coca Cola following with + 2.29%. Over 1% is the increase in OTE, Alpha Bank, OPAP, Ethniki and Titan, while Aegean, Motor Oil, ELHA and PPC are moving slightly higher.
On the other hand, Lambda loses 2.34%, with Terna Energy, Ellaktor and Saranti following with losses of more than 1%. Viohalko, Mytilineos, PPA, Piraeus, IPTO, EYDAP and Quest are moving slightly downwards. GEK Terna and Hellenic Petroleum are unchanged.
