Smart working: it goes on until June 30th

The state of emergency goes away, smart working remains. Even after March 31, the rules on agile work remain until June 30. Private individuals will be able to resort to smart working with a simplified procedure. This is a temporary extension, but in the Labor Commission in the Chamber there is an agreement on a single text that collects a dozen bills on this issue that changes the world of work.

What is smart working

According to the new text, smart working is defined if you work outside the office for at least 30% of the time. Below this threshold there is no need for a national agreement, but individual agreements can remain.

What changes

According to the rules currently in force, an individual agreement between worker and company is enough to work in smart working. In the new text the obligation of the individual agreement remains, but with general rules that must be regulated by national bargaining or at least by a territorial agreement. These agreements must concern certain categories such as frailties, parents and even those who act as caregivers and also some rights such as the right to disconnect, which, if not respected, can come to be considered a criminal offense.

Companies

There are concessions for companies that choose smart working according to collective bargaining. There is a 1% reduction in Inail insurance premiums. There is business credit for companies that make investments in technology and information technology in the two years following the date of entry into force of the law.

Equalization

Those who choose agile work must have equal treatment to those in the office, from the “economic and regulatory point of view, the right to health and safety at work, as well as the development of career opportunities and salary growth, the right to training at lifelong learning and periodic certification of related skills “.
