Smartphones with 100-megapixel front cameras are on the way

The smartphone race of megapixels cannot be stopped, and this applies to both the main cameras and the front ones. For a long time, the resolution of the latter practically did not change, but new times are on the way: according to a Chinese insider, usually very well informed about the affairs of local smartphone manufacturers, models with front-facing 100-megapixel cameras will soon appear.

No more details, but it can be assumed that these cameras will be implemented in different ways. For example, there are retractable cameras, PTZ cameras, and flip cameras that shoot both forward and backward. Accordingly, the installation of a 100-megapixel sensor in such a sensor automatically makes it a 100-megapixel selfie sensor. But there will certainly be options with an independent front-facing embedded (or sub-screen) 100-megapixel camera.

By itself, the number of megapixels hardly affects the quality of the picture, but the mechanism of combining them into groups for more light capture allows you to slightly improve shooting with insufficient light.
