THE increase in forest fires concentrated in the Central-West and North regions of Brazil have led smoke clouds for cities in the country . Gray dawns and dusks have become a reality in many Brazilian cities.
Cameras of the Live weather recorded the beginning and end of the day this Tuesday (3) in Porto Velho (RO), Cuiabá (MT), Campo Grande (MS) and in the Federal District, in Brasília. The images show the effect of smoke from fires on visibility and daylight color . The video above compares images from March of this year with the sky covered in clouds from the fires in the various capitals.
In the images, it is possible to see that the sunset in the capitals has changed color due to the smoke. The particles from the fires amplify the propagation of red light wavelengths and intensify the reddish color of the star. The phenomenon also occurs due to the combination of pollution and low relative humidity.
Brazilian cities have recorded air humidity levels typical of desert areas around the world. On Tuesday (3), cities in at least four states recorded 7% relative humidity .
Ten states are on yellow alert for heat wave for the next few days according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet). The temperature is expected to remain 5ºC above average for up to three days starting this Tuesday (3).
