Snap has released the fourth generation of its Spectacles augmented reality headset. The new model significantly surpasses its predecessor, allowing you to fully complement the objects of the real world with virtual ones.

Outwardly, glasses in the cyberpunk style look quite cumbersome, but so far the inevitable payment for an impressive “stuffing”, including two 3D-displays on waveguides, two cameras, four microphones, stereo speakers and a touch pad for control.
The glasses are capable of detecting objects and surfaces using two cameras, and then use this information to place augmented reality effects. Of course, the main purpose of cameras is to enable you to take photos and videos and then share them with your friends on Snapchat. All of this can be done using the touchpad on the side of the glasses, or even using voice commands to the built-in virtual assistant.
However, Snap is not yet ready to start selling this model to consumers. The glasses will be provided to selected AR artists and developers who are already working on similar projects to help further develop the product and implement new uses for it using proprietary Lens Studio software. How much the production version will be similar to the presented model and when it will appear is still unknown.
