The application store for the Ubuntu operating system Snap Store has promised to check cryptocurrency wallets manually. Over the past few months, attackers have been uploading malicious applications and fake crypto wallets to this store.

Users who download fake wallets lose funds. Two months later, one of the store’s clients downloaded a fake Exodus Wallet and lost nine bitcoins.

Canonical, the owner of the Snap Store, said it is ready to accommodate numerous customer complaints. A separate policy has been promised for uploading crypto wallet software to the Snap Store platform. Objective: to ensure the protection of customer funds using the Ubuntu operating system and its tools for daily activities.
