Snapdragon 895 and Snapdragon 895+ will be produced by different contract manufacturers

An insider known on Twitter as Ice Universe has revealed details about Qualcomm’s next-generation SoCs – Snapdragon 895 and Snapdragon 895+. And the data looks very interesting.

The common feature of these SoCs is the 4nm process technology. However, their production will be entrusted to different contract manufacturers: Samsung will be responsible for the production of Snapdragon 895 (Snapdragon 888 is produced at its facilities), and the production of Snapdragon 895+ will be entrusted to TSMC. Qualcomm periodically changes the manufacturers of its top-end SoCs, but this would probably be a precedent when two models within the same family are produced by different companies competing with each other in the market.

The Snapdragon 895 will debut in early December this year, and the first smartphones based on it are expected to be announced in December. The Snapdragon 895 Plus will most likely be released in the second half of 2022.

The insider hiding under the nickname Ice Universe is usually knowledgeable. Previously, he was noted for many truthful leaks. So, he accurately predicted the announcements of various Samsung image sensors and predicted the announcement of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha with a wraparound screen.
