A video recording the neutralization of a bank robber who was holding hostages in Florida, USA, by a sniper, has been released by the police. Specifically, it was Tuesday, February 6, 2024, when the FBI and men from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls about a bank robbery and hostage situation at the Fort Myers Bank of America. The robbery suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Sterling Alavache, was armed with a knife and claimed to have a bomb. And while the officers tried to negotiate, Alavache put the knife to the throat of one of the two hostages and a SWAT team sniper fired once through a computer monitor, striking Alavache in the center of the forehead and killing him instantly, according to with the police.
