Rapper Snoop Dogg's daughter shared that she suffered a “major stroke.”
Cori Broadus, 24, posted on her Instagram stories on Thursday (18) about her health crisis after suffering a cerebrovascular accident (CVA), popularly known as a stroke.
“I had a massive stroke this morning,” she wrote. “I started crying when they told me.”
Another photo showed Broadus wearing a mask with the caption: “Like I'm only 24, what have I done in the past to deserve all this.”
She is the only child of Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante Broadus, chief executive of beauty company Choc Factory.
Young Broadus has spoken openly about being diagnosed with lupus when she was six years old.
“I felt helpless,” Snoop Dogg told People magazine in 2010 upon discovering his daughter's illness. “No power, no friends.”
“No one could tell me what was wrong,” his wife said of their frustration before their daughter was diagnosed. “They took a lot of blood and said she has elderly cells. They gave her all kinds of [medicação]. But it went downhill.”
Cori Broadus said she was trying a new, holistic approach to her illness in an interview with People last year.
“I stopped taking all my medications five months ago. I’m just doing everything natural, all kinds of herbs, sea moss, teas,” she said. “I started working out, drinking a lot of water. So now I think my body is like, okay, this is the new program and she's getting used to it.”
Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks healthy cells, causing pain, fever, rashes, organ damage, and other symptoms.
