So far, Intel has nothing as monstrous. A photo of the 96-core AMD Epyc Genoa processor has appeared

Just yesterday we saw the AMD SP5 socket for the giant Epyc Genoa processors, as today a photo of the CPU itself appeared on the Web.

As you can see, the processor retains the chiplet design that was introduced by AMD a few years ago. Only in this case there are already 12 processor chipsets, since the CPU will contain up to 96 cores.

Each chiplet is only 72mm square2which is 8 mm2 less than in the case of the current Milan generation Epyc. This is due to the preservation of the number of cores in each chiplet using a thinner process technology. The I/O chip will also become slightly smaller: 397mm2 vs. 416 mm2.

Recall that Genoa processors will switch to the 5 nm process technology, Zen 4 architecture and offer 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes, DDR5 support and a 12-channel RAM controller. AMD said that test samples are already being shipped to customers, and a full launch is expected at the end of the year.
